Quickball: A Fun & Unique Introduction
Quickball is the fast-paced, active version of tee ball designed to keep young players engaged using coach-pitch, shorter games, and continuous action. It replaces the traditional batting tee with a coach pitching, emphasizes constant movement, skill-stations, and a less structured approach with no scores or standings—reducing pressure while maximizing fun.
Designed as a dynamic and positive introduction to baseball or softball for children aged 4–6.
| Feature | Quickball | Traditional Tee Ball |
|---|---|---|
| Hitting | Coach pitches to the batter. | Batter hits from a tee. |
| Player Activity | Constant action and widespread involvement. | More standing; less continuous play. |
| Pace | Fast-paced; many balls in play. | Slower pace; fewer balls in play. |
| Gameplay | Skill-stations + mini-games; no scores kept. | Full innings; scores typically kept. |
| Baserunning | Multiple-base advancement allowed. | Runners usually limited to one base. |
