VOLUNTEER CLEARANCE

Volunteer Clearances

All coaches, assistants, team parents, and volunteers must have approved clearances on file before participating. Clearances are valid for 5 years under Pennsylvania law.

3 Easy Steps

1) Request Your Clearances

  • PA State Police Criminal History (Act 34) — epatch.pa.gov
  • PA Child Abuse Certification (Act 151) — COMPASS
  • FBI Fingerprinting (Act 114) — only if you have not lived in PA for the last 10 consecutive years.

2) Prepare Your Files

Save each certificate as PDF or clear image. Suggested naming:

LastName_FirstName_Act34.pdf LastName_FirstName_Act151.pdf LastName_FirstName_FBI.pdf

3) Upload for Approval

Create your account and upload documents in our secure Background Manager system.

Start Background Check

✅ On the Background Manager page, under “Select Organization”, type and select Langhorne Athletic Association before continuing.

You’ll receive an email confirmation once approved.

What You Need

  • Act 34 — PA State Police Criminal History (free for volunteers)
  • Act 151 — PA Child Abuse History Certification (free for volunteers)
  • Act 114 — FBI Fingerprint (only if not a 10-year continuous PA resident)
  • Renewal — All documents must be updated every 5 years

Do I Need the FBI Clearance?

If you have lived in Pennsylvania continuously for the past 10 years, the FBI check is not required.

If not, you must complete the FBI Fingerprinting (Act 114) step on the Background Manager site.

You can provide a notarized affidavit of residency if eligible (instructions in the portal).
